Govt guided Consumer welfare

Please make it compulsory to buy health insurance as much as possible. 1. Make all tax payers pay for (family) Health insurance, unless they can prove that they already have a policy. 2. Make it possible for them to buy a "standard" family plan. A simple, basic common plan to be compulsorily offered by all Insurance companies, the price can vary as per the company's decision. 3. Offer this standard, basic plan to all central and state govt and PSU (overall Sarkari) employees. The idea behind this is compulsory basic insurance in Netherlands etc. which allows no exceptions and fine print to exclude health conditions. Citizens can be fined if they do not have this, registered against their name. Poor get subsidy to cover part of the cost, depending on income. Free for below 18. Govt should promote more products it thinks are good for citizens, or at least enable Sarkari people to buy them. (as part of bonus, instead of money) Such as efficient (Electric, Hybr

Parks of Varanasi

This post is triggered to place on record comments made by me on mygov.in with regard to invitations for Ideas the Parks of Varanasi. These should be widely applicable to all parks in general, in a country struggling to efficiently deploy its resources for the benefit of the struggling masses. Trees can be planted in several places and not just in parks... People can have walking paths in other places and not just parks... People can invest time, money and effort in making other essential things better like helping the poor, homeless, ill and not just pour resources into parks... Politicians like parks...MAYAWATI made many many parks... BETTER is to make these parks RESPONSIBLE for Recycling for the AREA around them.. All manure used should be self-generated..all surrounding locality Garbage should be processed (segregated) there and then dispatched further.. SALE of recyclable waste and taking effort out of municipality will make these Parks as self-financing or revenue-ge

Destruction of Self-respect by the Indian Education system

It all looks not so insidious or evil. You send your kid to school, like raising a disciplined little regiment of children. Other than taking 12 years to produce a vast array of idiots and dimwits (such as those who elect D Trump, in a 100% literate land also called the 'hope of the world'). The evil IMHO starts with the school leaving age. There appears a big big disconnect between the schooling and the real world. I am a very literate person, I realise now, about midway through my life (fingers crossed), that I tend to take things a bit (too) literally, perhaps, for the country I was born in. This chasm (of the disconnect) manifests itself gigantically in a dysfunctional (or functional chaos?) country like India. All is well till about the first 10 years of school, other than making you repeat some stuff to make sure you do get it. It is a wide array of topics, with reasonable coverage, which leaves a bit of time for goofing off. An average, non-psychotic kid should be
