Of what purpose, happiness?

Happiness is an end unto itself. After it is what it is. Purpose of life is after all 64 (and happiness). A self fulfilling goal. No need to inquire about the purpose of our actions, what is right or wrong with a deeper understanding. Be happy, purposefully. Easy? Right? Perhaps a bit too easy or Simple but not easy?

Ban intraday/ non delivery trades

What purpose, other than betting, is the reason for such trades? Stick to the basics of what a Share constitutes. A share of company ownership/capital. A minimum lock in of 5 days should be enforced for all buyers. The method of enforcement can be a progressive taxation regime. 99% tax for intraday. So the taxation should be enforced based on the Exact duration of the ownership, computers can compute that very easily. Since shares reside only in dematerialized form and the depositories of shares are only two in India which are both government owned, data of such trades is easily computable and enforceable. The government makes money from betting may be a good excuse, just like lotteries, to continue with the charade. Stock market is not for betting. It should be differentiated from do...

Destruction of Self-respect by the Indian Education system

It all looks not so insidious or evil. You send your kid to school, like raising a disciplined little regiment of children. Other than taking 12 years to produce a vast array of idiots and dimwits (such as those who elect D Trump, in a 100% literate land also called the 'hope of the world'). The evil IMHO starts with the school leaving age. There appears a big big disconnect between the schooling and the real world. I am a very literate person, I realise now, about midway through my life (fingers crossed), that I tend to take things a bit (too) literally, perhaps, for the country I was born in. This chasm (of the disconnect) manifests itself gigantically in a dysfunctional (or functional chaos?) country like India. All is well till about the first 10 years of school, other than making you repeat some stuff to make sure you do get it. It is a wide array of topics, with reasonable coverage, which leaves a bit of time for goofing off. An average, non-psychotic kid should be...
